Cotinine testing for detection of smoking behaviour - - - - - - - Isoniazid testing for TB drug adherence

GFC Diagnostics is among the World's leaders in rapid cotinine testing. Used to verify and monitor smoking habit. We have the only quantitative point-of-care urine test for cotinine and the other nicotine metabolites.

Cigarettes, a Source of Nicotine and Cotinine

SmokeScreen: is a rapid test to detect cotinine and the other nicotine metabolites by a colorimetric reaction. The colorimetric assay turns a urine sample different shades of pink - the heavier the smoker the darker the colour. It can be used on its own to correctly identify smokers, with a colour chart for a   semi-quantitative measure of smoking.

Urine SmokeScreen: As well as semi-quantitative measurements of nicotine metabolites with a colour chart the urine test can quantify cotinine levels with a dedicated SmokeScreen Analyzer . This instrument automates the mixing and timing of the test and is sensitive enough to detect down to passive smoking levels.

Saliva SmokeScreen: We have developed a semi-quantitative test for nicotine metabolites in saliva.  Used with a colour chart the saliva test is ideal for use in dentistry or studying smoking-related oral diseases.

IsoScreen: is a urine test which detects the metabolites of isoniazid, an antibiotic drug used in the treatment of tuberculosis. This test is used to monitor treatment adherence in patients with TB, and helps to prevent the development of multi-drug resistance. Now in partnership with STOP TB.

SafeTube: this is the patented technology which allows quick and easy colorimetric assays to be carried out away from the laboratory, without the need for expensive instrumentation. The device allows reactive chemicals to be isolated from one another before the test. After use it safely contains reagents and sample, reducing the chance of operator contamination and allows for safe disposal.
